Some projects do not fit neatly into one category. Opening up a wall between the kitchen and living room, adding a bedroom over the garage, converting a patio into conditioned living space, or renovating a home purchased at auction all require a general contractor who can coordinate multiple trades. Eco Grizzly acts as your single point of contact for design, permitting, demolition, framing, MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), and finish work.

Whole-House Renovation

Gut renovations strip a home to the studs and rebuild it from the inside out. This approach lets us update wiring, plumbing, insulation, and HVAC while redesigning the floor plan. Whole-house renovations are common for older homes in Pasadena, the Valley, and the Westside where the structure is solid but the interiors are decades out of date.

Room Additions and Conversions

Adding square footage is one of the most cost-effective ways to increase home value. We build room additions over garages, extend living areas into backyards, and convert unused spaces like attics and basements into bedrooms, offices, or media rooms. Every addition includes foundation, framing, roofing, and finish work.

Structural Modifications

Opening up walls, installing steel beams, raising ceilings, and adding skylights all require structural engineering and city permits. We work with licensed structural engineers, pull all permits, and ensure every modification meets current California building code including seismic requirements.

Full Roof Replacement

Southern California

The original roof had reached the end of its service life, with worn and lifted shingles across multiple slopes. Our crew tore off the old roofing material down to the deck, checked the sheathing for damage, and installed fresh synthetic underlayment before laying new architectural shingles at every ridge, valley, and penetration. The finished roof gives the home a clean, uniform look along with a full weather-tight seal.

Concrete Patio & Room Addition

Southern California

This project combined a large concrete patio pour with a structural room addition. The crew installed a full rebar grid over a vapor barrier, poured and finished the concrete slab, and completed the room addition framing and exterior to match the existing home. The finished patio features a stamped concrete surface with a built-in outdoor kitchen island, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor living area.

Water Leak Repair & Mold Remediation

Southern California

A persistent roof leak caused water damage and mold growth in the ceiling and wall cavity. Our team identified and repaired the leak source, removed all affected drywall and insulation, treated the framing with antimicrobial solution, and rebuilt the area with new materials. Final paint and texture match the surrounding surfaces so the repair is invisible.

Attic Insulation Removal and Installation

Southern California

The existing attic insulation had settled and degraded over time, leaving large areas with minimal thermal protection. Our crew removed all old insulation down to the ceiling joists, cleaned the attic space, sealed air leaks around penetrations, and installed new blown-in insulation to current energy code requirements. The homeowner saw an immediate improvement in indoor comfort and lower utility bills.

Full Backyard Remodel with Outdoor Fireplace, Fire Pit, and Kitchen

Southern California

This was a full backyard renovation, not a single feature. Our crew built the outdoor living space from the ground up. We set cinder block foundations for the fireplace and the fire pit seating area, framed and poured the concrete structures, built the outdoor kitchen with a grill and concrete counters, and finished the surrounding patio decking. The completed backyard ties the fireplace, fire pit, kitchen, and pool together into one connected outdoor space the homeowner can use year round.

Poolside Patio Cover with Recessed Lighting

Southern California

Our crew set the posts and framed a solid aluminum patio cover across the back of the home, running the full length of the pool deck. Wiring was run through the structure for recessed can lights and two ceiling fans so the covered patio stays usable after dark. The insulated roof panels were fitted and sealed, then finished in a dark trim that matches the posts and the existing rooflines. The concrete patio, artificial turf, and black mesh pool safety fence were kept working together so the whole backyard reads as one finished outdoor room.

General Renovation FAQs

Common questions answered by our certified technicians.

Scope, finish level, and how much structural or mechanical work is involved. Permits, and whether you stay in the home while the work happens, also factor in. We provide a detailed estimate after the initial assessment.
Yes. We prepare permit applications, submit architectural and structural plans, and schedule all required city inspections. Permit fees are included in our project estimates.
In most cases, yes. Removing a wall between the kitchen and living room is our most common structural request. We hire a structural engineer to evaluate the wall, design the beam if it is load-bearing, and handle the permit process.
A full gut renovation typically takes four to eight months depending on size and complexity. We provide a detailed project schedule with milestones at contract signing.
Yes. We work with investors, flippers, and homebuyers who want to renovate before moving in. We can begin the assessment and design process during escrow so construction starts as soon as you close.
