Patio Cover Installation in Los Angeles
Attached and freestanding covers in aluminum, Alumawood, and wood, with solid, lattice, or louvered roofs. Serving Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, and Riverside counties.
Shade is the difference between a backyard you use and one you only look at. Eco Grizzly builds attached and freestanding patio covers for homes across Los Angeles and the surrounding counties, in aluminum, Alumawood, and wood, with solid, lattice, or louvered roofs. We set the footings, frame the structure, tie it into the existing roofline, and run the electrical for recessed lights and ceiling fans while the framing is still open. Every project starts with an on-site measurement and a written estimate.

Aluminum is the most common patio cover material in Southern California because it does not warp, rot, or attract termites, and the factory finish never needs repainting. Alumawood adds an embossed wood grain texture so the structure reads as timber from across the yard. We build solid roofs for full shade and rain protection, lattice roofs for filtered light, and louvered roofs with adjustable blades when you want the shade to change through the day. Insulated roof panels are an option where the cover sits tight against the house and heat transfer matters.
Wood Patio Covers and Pergolas
Wood still wins on character. We build cedar and Douglas fir patio covers and pergolas with exposed rafter tails, notched beams, and stain or paint matched to your existing trim. Wood needs resealing every few years in this climate and carries higher long-term upkeep than aluminum, which we explain before you commit. A pergola is the right call over a seating area or walkway where dappled light is the goal rather than full rain cover.
Attached and Freestanding Covers
An attached cover ties into your existing roofline and reads as part of the house, which is usually the right call directly off a slider or a kitchen door. A freestanding cover stands on its own posts and works better over a pool deck, a seating area away from the house, or anywhere the existing roof cannot carry the extra load. We walk the yard with you, measure the span, and tell you which one the site actually supports before anything is ordered.
Permits, Footings, and Attaching to the House
An attached patio cover carries load into your existing wall and roof, so it needs concrete footings sized for the span, a properly bolted ledger, and flashing where the new roof meets the old one. We pull the building permit, submit the plan, and schedule the inspections. Most cities in Los Angeles County require a permit for any cover attached to the house or larger than 120 square feet. If what you actually want is a fully enclosed patio room with walls or screening, that is a different build than a cover, and we will tell you straight whether it fits our scope.
Lighting, Ceiling Fans, and Electrical
Electrical is far easier and cheaper to run while the framing is open, so we plan it before the roof panels go on. On a recent pool deck project we built a solid aluminum cover the full length of the deck, set and framed the posts, ran wiring through the structure for recessed can lights and two ceiling fans, fitted and sealed insulated roof panels, and matched the dark trim to the existing rooflines. The same yard got artificial turf and a black mesh pool safety fence. Fans matter more than people expect in the Valley, where still air under a solid roof holds heat well past sunset.

During InstallPoolside Patio Cover with Recessed Lighting
Southern California
Our crew set the posts and framed a solid aluminum patio cover across the back of the home, running the full length of the pool deck. Wiring was run through the structure for recessed can lights and two ceiling fans so the covered patio stays usable after dark. The insulated roof panels were fitted and sealed, then finished in a dark trim that matches the posts and the existing rooflines. The concrete patio, artificial turf, and black mesh pool safety fence were kept working together so the whole backyard reads as one finished outdoor room.
